Nutrition and Weight Loss - Course Description
This comprehensive, nine-session program empowers participants with the
self-knowledge, nutritional information, and behavior modification
skills needed to obtain desired body weight, increased energy level, and
decreased risk for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Session I: Lifestyle Pattern Identification
Content
After completing session one, participants will be able to identify:
• the five lifestyle pattern
domains
• symptoms of personal imbalance
• underlying beliefs about food, body image, eating and exercise
habits
• the three most common reasons for eating
• how food is used to soothe emotions
• personal value system underlying choices and patterns
Skills
After completing the knowledge
application exercises, participants will know how to:
• modify cues and triggers for
undesired eating habits
• restructure automatic thought patterns that sabotage healthy eating
patterns
• align eating habits and daily actions with personal value system
